Tarantella sin fronteras is an artistic company based in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Mexico, founded by a small group of Italian musicians living abroad. It was born to export in the American continent (and not only) music and dances of the "old world", with a special attention to the Italian tradition.

In a short time, it join other European musicians living abroad and forms talented local artists, teaching music and dancing. Today the collective of T.S.F. ven artists from various regions of the world: Apulia, Sicily, Piedmont (in Italy), France, Israel, Mexico.

The show is a musical journey that begins in Sicily with songs of love, work and migration; passes through the Vesuvius region with its tammurriata and songs of devotion to the Virgin; crosses the magical land of pizzica pizzica: the Salento and it reaches Piedmont, border land with a strong influence of the Occitan and French traditions. The trip continues through the south of France, passing from Bretagna and Ireland and arriving in Spanish territory: medieval bourrée, romantic mazurkas, courentas, scottish and an dro, jigs and joyful group dances!

The instruments used are: diatonic accordion, tambourine, guitar, mandolin, violin, jarana, acoustic bass, cajón, darbuka, flute, clarinet, bagpipes.

The dancers of the company present more than ten traditional dances, allowing the public to enter into the living of rural near and far traditions.

The repertoire is a fusion of traditional and original songs. In the spring of 2015 the band publishes their first album "L'America". Press play to hear some of the album:

Since 2014 the company has performed live dance and music shows regularly in Mexico and is available in the summer to perform in Italy and Europe. In 2017 the project participates in the meeting of the Italian community in Chiapas with the special participation of the Italian ambassador in Mexico, Dott. Luigi Maccotta.
